A Simple Love Song

I aint no expert in matters of love
There’s no help from heavens above
All I have are my words and dreams
May not be much, or so it seems
♥
I do write songs straight from my heart
There's no science, it may not be art
All I have are my words and dreams
Sunshine, starlight and moon beams
♥
When I see you my tongue gets tied
My feelings mix up and go for a ride
Got no lines that make me sound cool
I always mumble like a crazy fool
♥
When you’re close I’m all a fluster
Not an ounce of courage I could muster
I’m all clumsy can’t coordinate
Will this race ever get past the gate

You dazzle me with the look in your eyes
That sweet smile of yours is ever so nice
That strand of hair falling just out of place
Why does it make my heart beat race

Emptiness when you walk away
Sleepless nights if I don’t see you all day
Is this what crazy love does to one
Heart wants to stay but my brain wants to run

Clichés there are plenty in love
It seems they’re all I have got now
Will my song ever find its way
To let you know what I’ve got to say
