Valentine's Poems #3: Voicemail
75
Voicemail
The caller is not available .... Please record your message after the tone....
Close the door
Sit close to the phone
So no one else can listen to my tone
I hope you don’t
Mind hearing my voice
E-mail and texting were never a choice
Write a letter
I might have done
But waiting for post is never much fun
I wanted to say, all this face to face
Never got the courage as my pulse does race
Can’t bear to think what your eyes will show
Will they show surprise, or panic, no!
For so long
We’ve been friends
Been together through times and trends
You confide in me
About the loves you’ve had
It breaks my heart when they treat you so bad
You said you were glad
You’ve got me to talk
Share cups of coffee or go for a walk
I wanted to say, all this face to face
Never got the courage as my pulse does race
Can’t bear to think what your eyes will show
Will there be shock, disappointment, no!
I’ll come to the point
The machine might stop
My grip’s too tight, my heart does hop
In love with you
I’ve always been
A future for us I’ve always seen
You fill my life
My dreams and my thoughts
A feeling that I have always fought
I wanted to say, all this face to face
Never got the courage as my pulse does race
Can’t bear to think what your eyes will show
Will it be love, please will they glow?
Ring me now
If you too feel the same
Stop me burning in this solitary flame
But if this is not
What you want
Break up this friendship, we certainly can’t
I promise you
Let’s make a deal
Don’t worry now; I know how your kind heart feels
I wanted to say, all this face to face
Never got the courage as my pulse does race
I don’t mind if your eyes do show
Love for a friend, please don't think I'm a foe
Pick up the phone
Oh let me hear your voice
Or Press delete
Don’t agonise over choice.
I love you, always, either way.
Thank you!

So magnificently said. The words make my heart race. Quick, I need a doctor! How sweet, how adorable...how endearing. The picture accompanying your poetry is so emotive and perfectly chosen. This alone would make any woman love you. And, then, that video, it made me cry. So beautiful...
